This morning it was like a miracle had happened. I have found the balloon I have molded with newspaper was dry, was sharp and had the shape of a sphere. There was no need to pop the balloon, it was already deflated. I was planning on plastering on top of the newspaper, and was afraid that it would consume more time. There was no need for that too. I went on with the next step. I drew a line to the balloon in order to cut it. Because the balloon had an edgy top and my aim was to have a wider top so that the dishes could fit in. I took a scissor and started cutting in, I easily did my hand movements and achieved the perfect wider mouth I designed without any complications. The sphere was ready, so I tried placing it in the middle of head piece, however, one of the equal vertical metal wire broke, I think because I have put so much pressure. I couldn't solder it again because it was plastic cloated, I have tried hot glue gun to put them together but it didn't work. I have called help from Sarah, we have experimented together. We took a metal wire, the ones that are thin, elastic and really easy to bend. We have rounded the metal wire for it to hold, it didn't work either. Sarah suggested that a yarn could be a better solution to hold them together. My peer Kyson had a white yarn, I requested to borrow it and happily he helped me. I have started experimenting with it, first I tried tying them together, it failed cause it pulled them together. I needed a method that would open them wider enough to fit the balloon and also would not break again. I went for another trial and tied them from the edges; it worked in both ways. It hold them still and made them wider enough to fit the dish sack.

In the lunch break I went to the charity shops in order to find a bag and a pattern for my Kangaroo Sack. To be honest, I was not expecting to find something that I wanted this quick. I found the perfect leather bag that has a pouch- exactly the type of bag I was searching for. I also found a pattern to cover the bag and create my own design. The pattern was red and had some details on it, I thought this is something very cool that would encourage any human to collect the dishes with this bag and carry it. During afternoon session, I searched for some glue in order to attach the dish sack to the head piece. Sarah and Suzanne told me that glue gun would work the best, but I did not have any. My peer Gigi had it and lend it to me for me to use it. I have just glued the sides and it was glued immediately. After that, I was going to colour my sack in pink, then I decided that I have liked the aesthetic and pattern of the newspaper more so I quitted that idea and made up my mind on the newspaper. At the end of the session I had a one-to-one with Suzanne and I catch her up through the process and changes in my project, we also took a look in my workflow.

Action plan

My plan for after school is to start producing my Kangaroo sack, I will be making it out of school hours to fit my timing. For Tuesday I am planning to decorate my Head-dish with little dots to match the African-style sacks- cause it is my inspiration. Then I will move on with my Multifunctional Cleaner and start experimenting on it.
